My weekly, Friday update....
It's Friday! And that means it's time for an Author Update (my secret plan for helping me to stay accountable!).
So, overall, I've made some super great progress. I'm about 3/4 of the way through the first round of editing my novel. I believed I mentioned previously that I'm going to need to rewrite the first several chapters, but apart from that, I haven't found anything else that needs major rewriting!!! And that is SUPER AWESOME in my opinion.
Yes, of course, there are areas where I think I need to add some more material or tighten the writing. But, apart from the first several chapters, the rest of the novel seems to be a solid first draft. This, in turn, has sparked lots of excitement for me and definitely some renewed confidence.
The Plan: My goal is to finish reading the last 25% of the novel by the end of the weekend, and (hopefully) get a chance to do some reflection on the overall plot, pacing, momentum, and character arc.
