Spring 2023: Thoughts on the journey of writing a book.
I did it!
That has to be one of the best book updates any author could give. I had a goal of writing 10k words for Q2, but I was so productive this month, I ended up completing the project on June 1st!
Book 2 of The Dissenter Saga sits at about 145k words right now, and introduces a whole new world in this dystopian future. I made myself cry, made myself laugh, and made myself long for these characters to be more than just fictional people in a made-up future.
Is it weird to say that I gave myself a book hangover???
I took June 2nd off to celebrate a job well done, and now will be moving on to the next steps of the process.
Here's how things are looking:
Book 1 (Dissent) is in the hands of Tayler from Bailey and Bloom Ink. But she's not due to begin edits until July 1st.
Book 2 has been drafted. I'll be letting this book rest for about 2 weeks before I begin my first round of edits.
Book 3 is on deck! This is the final book in this series, and I really want to finish up this trilogy with a bang. While book 2 rests, I'll be in brainstorming mode to plot out this final installment of The Dissenter Saga.
The Plan: So, here we go! For the month of June, I'll be spending the first 2 weeks on brainstorming and plotting book 3. Then, about halfway through the month, I'll be switching gears and moving into editing book 2.
