It's another book review, and let me just start by saying, "Holy forbidden romances, Batman!" If you're in the mood for a rollercoaster ride through a fantasy world filled with secrets, steamy tension, and some seriously swoon-worthy characters, then "From Blood and Ash" by Jennifer Armentrout is your next guilty pleasure.

Set in a world where humans live under the constant threat of ancient creatures, this book follows the journey of our badass protagonist, Poppy. Now, Poppy isn't your typical damsel in distress. Oh no, she's got secrets wrapped in secrets, all while trying to navigate the stifling rules of her society. And did I mention she's got a knack for wielding swords? Talk about a lethal combo!

But what's a fantasy novel without a dash of mystery, right? Cue mysterious, brooding Hawke. Swoon alert! Seriously, this guy could charm the birds out of the trees with his smoldering looks and devil-may-care attitude. But there's more to Hawke than meets the eye, and watching his relationship with Poppy unfold is like watching a slow-burning fire. You know it's gonna explode, but you can't look away.

And let's talk about that forbidden romance angle, shall we? I mean, who doesn't love a good star-crossed lovers trope? The tension between Poppy and Hawke crackles like electricity, and every stolen glance and touch had me rooting for them like my favorite sports team. But, of course, things are never easy, especially when there are dark forces at play and secrets lurking around every corner.

Armentrout weaves a spellbinding tale filled with action, intrigue, and enough romantic tension to make your heart race faster than a marathon runner on caffeine. The pacing is relentless, pulling you along for the ride as Poppy and Hawke uncover the truth about their world and their own destinies.

But it's not just about the romance and the action. Armentrout crafts characters that leap off the page, each with their own quirks and complexities. From the steadfast Tawny to the evil Duke, you'll find yourself invested in every character's journey, cheering them on or hissing at them from the sidelines.

Now let's look at the finer details:

👸Characters: Poppy is fantastic. She snarky, strong, and also charming. And Hawke? Oh baby, he is totally yummy. You can't help but fall in love with them and cheer them both on!

💗🌶️Romance & Spice: This is definitely a romantasy with several sizzling moments between these two characters, as well as three steamy scenes that will leave your heart pounding. The sex scenes are open-door and last a couple of pages each, so be forewarned! 🥵

📖Plot: The worldbuilding in lovely, though a little complex. We have a complete history that Armentrout weaves throughout the book, and it can be a little complicating. The plot is definitely intriguing with rebel uprising, monsters to fight, and sinister characters that want to abuse and use Poppy for nefarious purposes. There's a whole lot of tension and it is fantastic to dive into!

Overall Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

In conclusion, "From Blood and Ash" is like crack for fantasy romance junkies. It's addictive, thrilling, and leaves you begging for more. So, grab yourself a copy, buckle up, and get ready for a wild ride through a world where love and danger collide in the most deliciously captivating way possible.

Now, if you're a romance fan and love a good rebel uprising, then you might want to check out Revile. Romance takes centerstage in this standalone book within the larger Dissenter Saga universe. With an enemies-to-lovers romance, spice, and a strong female MC, Revile offers a great ride!
